Highway 6 Sidewalk work starts today (9/16)

Dan Burroughs

This morning, the Town of Dillon started the Highway 6 sidewalk and storm sewer project. This project will add a 10' concrete sidewalk along the north side of Highway 6 between Evergreen Road (Lake Dillon Drive) and Dillon Ridge Road to the west. It will take about 8 weeks to complete and should be open by Thanksgiving.

The first task will be to start the storm sewer at the low end near the Dillon Health facility. The sidewalk will be constructed over the existing ditch along the north side of the highway which will be replaced by a new Storm Sewer.

The construction work at Evergreen Road will start in about 2-4 weeks.  During construction hours, Outbound Evergreen Road (2 Lanes) will need to be reduced to one outbound lane with all Left Turn/Straight/Right Turn movements.  Most of the time we will have it reopened to two lanes after hours and on weekends.

There will be a one week stretch where the right turn lane will be closed overnight so we can efficiently complete the storm sewer and paving work.
