Tenderfoot Update 6/23: Subgrade stabilization on Tenderfoot Hill

The contractor finished cutting the lower portion of the hill down to the bottom of the pavement section yesterday.

After proof-rolling (driving a loaded dump truck over the subgrade), It was determined yesterday that a 300 foot x 12' wide strip of subgrade on the highway side of the road will need to be stabilized before the contractor can add the road base and pave. Today and tomorrow they will be removing this soft area and replacing it with imported roadbase materials.
